The Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies (WCSS) is a non-profit organization that aims to promote social studies and the professional growth and development of educators, which, in turn, will help young people develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.

Saturday, March 12 - Monday, March 14 of 2022 WCSS will host its annual teacher education conference “Agents of Democracy: Uncovering history’s hidden voices and preparing Wisconsin’s youth for civic readiness”. The Conference will be in person at the Chula Vista Conference Center in the Wisconsin Dells and will feature some options for hybrid/virtual attendees. Conference sessions will range from field trips and workshops on Saturday, to shorter, conference presentations and sessions on Sunday and Monday with the highlight of Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings as the keynote speaker. Check out the Conference Strands and submit a proposal to present at the conference here.
