Joint membership allows new and renewing NCSS members to add and pay for membership in a participating state, local or regional council when paying for their NCSS memberships. Joint membership is available to individuals joining or renewing at the NCSS Comprehensive or Online membership levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What levels of NCSS membership are joint memberships applicable?

Joint memberships are applicable to individuals at NCSS' Comprehensive or Online levels.

What are the incentives for signing up joint members?

The number of joint members you have determines how many representatives you will be assigned at the NCSS House of Delegates. Having more joint members allows you to have a stronger voice in the House of Delegates.

How do I sign up for the joint membership program?

Please fill out this form to sign up.

What happens when a member joins NCSS and a state, regional, or local affiliate through the NCSS website?

NCSS will collect state, regional, and local membership dues and send them to state treasurers quarterly. The state, regional, or local council will determine the start date of the member's fiscal year at the state, regional, or local level. On the month that NCSS membership dues are received, that month is recognized as the start date of the NCSS membership.

If I sign up for the Joint Membership Program, when will my Affiliated Council be listed on the NCSS Membership Form?

We will begin adding councils to the NCSS Membership Form 24-72 hours after we receive the approved rate from your council.

Will NCSS manage my council’s membership list?

NCSS will not manage your council’s membership list. We will collect a payment, and share the contact information for the NCSS members who opt to join your council. It is up to each state, regional or local council to keep their membership lists, and determine policies regarding start and end dates for membership.

Where should locally collected NCSS joint membership payments be sent?

If you collect dues for joint membership locally by check or other forms of payment, please send the NCSS dues to:
