The International Assembly is an Associated Group of National Council for the Social Studies. IA provides an opportunity for social educators from international regions to discuss the international dimensions of the Social Studies. International Assembly membership is open to all NCSS Members who are interested in the development and implementation of social studies within the Global Village.
The Journal of International Social Studies serves as a forum to present and discuss common concerns and heighten awareness of the international, global, and transnational nature of issues in social education.
Our NCSS membership messaging platform, Connected, is being upgraded. With so many great things happening at NCSS, we cannot wait for the opportunity to introduce you to a new and engaging way to connect with your social studies colleagues and share important member-generated news and updates.
Whether you've been a casual user or daily user of Connected, we invite you to preview the new platform in mid-September to see how it can help you to cultivate community with others here at your professional home, to advocate for social studies with an authoritative voice, and to innovate for tomorrow. But first, we will ask you to bear with us as we pause service starting July 10, 2023. In the meantime, we have created a temporary Google Group for IA members.
If you have been an avid user of CONNECTED, you will not have to worry about transferring or downloading any of your files or content. We will do it for you! All we ask is that you return in mid-September to share in the online launch, and for now please simply... pardon the interruption!
