American Institute for Research
The American Institutes for Research is looking for Social Studies and Science Item Writers. Item writers develop test questions for educational assessments. A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in the content area, and experience in:
Paid onsite training will be provided on July 9 & 10, 2008.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, starting at $20 per question.
Questions will be submitted electronically through a Windows-based PC, though writers may occasionally be asked to return for additional onsite workshops.

EOE (7/20/08) Director, Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center, Ronald Reagan Presidential LibraryThe Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization that sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion, the Center for Public Affairs, and the Presidential Learning Center. Located in Simi Valley in suburban Los Angeles, the Library houses over 50 million Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers, an extraordinary collection of photographs and film, and thousands of gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. As a result of a generous grant by the Annenberg Foundation, The Reagan Foundation seeks an education professional to provide leadership and management for a range of programs for the expanded and newly-named Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The Center will now be national in scope, focusing on five major components: teacher training; curriculum development; student programming; partnerships with national organizations; and technology to increase visibility, accessibility and reach. These components will establish the Center as a model for empowering educators and youth to become better citizens. It is the intention that the implementation of this vision will fill an educational void and bring civic education back to schools throughout the country in a way that will engage, excite and educate students.Candidates should have strong experience in educational program development, implementation and evaluation. A minimum of five years of teaching experience and school administration and/or business management experience is highly desirable. Bachelors and Masters degrees are required, with some academic training in education, history, political science or similar field preferred.
